The Blue Zone of Loma Linda

In Loma Linda, California, there is a group of Seventh-day Adventists, members of a denomination of the Protestant Free Church, who live on average up to ten years longer than other Americans. This “Blue Zone” is characterized by remarkable health in old age. The reason? A diet that relies heavily on plant-based foods such as beans, vegetables and whole grains and contains little meat or junk food.
