LIVE | Last 24 hours more infections Rotterdam-Rijnmond | Inland

In Rotterdam-Rijnmond, one of the three security regions where, according to Prime Minister Mark Rutte, a regional lockdown is imminent, the contamination figures have increased last 24 hours. Compared to a week ago, there are considerably fewer infections in Rotterdam-Rijnmond. In the other two ‘danger regions’, Twente and South Holland South, the number of new corona infections has fallen last 24 hours, according to figures from the RIVM.

In Rotterdam-Rijnmond, the institute peated 915 new infections in the past 24 hours, 147 more than the day before. The week before, however, it concerned more than 1,200 new cases in a day. Compared to Monday and Tuesday, when the contamination figures were also above 1000, there is now a decrease.

According to Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb of Rotterdam, it is still too early to take additional measures. “We are still waiting to see how it will go, it is still too early for possible additional measures,” said a spokesman. According to him, more is clear after the weekend.

In Twente, 327 positive tests were received between Wednesday morning and Thursday morning, a decrease of 131 compared to the previous 24 hours. On Friday and Saturday, Twente was still well above 600.

In the past 24 hours, the infection rate in South Holland South more than halved, from 306 to 166. This region had 444 new cases on Monday and 370 on Tuesday.
