LIVE | Jos B. wants to stop documentary about Nicky Verstappen | Inland

58-year-old B. was convicted by the court in Maastricht earlier this month for the abuse and kidnapping of 11-year-old Nicky in 1998. Both the Public Prosecution Service and B. appealed against the conviction of 12.5 years in prison. . That means that the conviction is not yet final.

It had been known for some time that No Pictures Please, a company founded by presenter Ewout Genemans and RTL, was working on the documentary. Genemans was with the detective team for three years. The two-part documentary entitled ‘The Nicky Verstappen case: Behind the scenes in the police investigation’ is scheduled for broadcast on Sunday and Monday evenings on RTL4.

Because during the TV program Beau last Friday, B. was named “perpetrator three times, instead of suspect”, it was decided at the last minute to apply for interim relief, said lawyer Adi van Koningsveld in court. She also argues that the documentary is an infringement of B.’s privacy. Her request to preview the documentary was refused.
