In Germany, there is a shortage of the corona medicine remdesivir. The country has only a few hundred doses left. A week ago, the ministry said it still had enough stock of the first drug approved by the European Union for treatment of Covid-19.
Minster Spahn urges to make the virus inhibitor in Europe as well. He would also commit himself to this. Remdesivir, a multi-virus remedy, is made by the American pharmaceutical company Gilead. Recently, the British newspaper The Guardian reported that the United States had bought up almost all of the stock for the next three months, which could prevent other countries from getting the drug for the time being.
On 1 July, the Netherlands reported having “currently sufficient” braking desivir. The manufacturer has promised that the Netherlands can look forward to even more in the near future, the Ministry of Health says.
