The Haaglanden Security Region has once again called on the residents of the region to comply with the rules. “The situation in the region is really serious,” said deputy chairman of the VRH, Marja van Bijsterveldt. “That is why we ask you again and urgently to stick to the measures and to help get this crisis under control.”
The number of corona infections in the Haaglanden region continues to increase. The total number of people who tested positive for corona was more than 2,500 last week. The increase in corona patients in hospitals is putting regular, plannable care under pressure, according to the VRH.
The safety region emphasizes that it is important that everyone complies with the measures. It is also urgent to wear a face mask in all indoor areas accessible to the public. This advice also applies to people who have a contact profession.
Laboratory capacity has been a bottleneck recently, but by gaining more lab capacity, the Haaglanden region has now been able to process eight hundred extra tests per day. A new test street has also been opened in Zoetermeer. It is currently being investigated where and when the next test location in the Haaglanden region can be opened.
