“Live for the Music”: A Short Film About Burnt-Out Musicians Choosing Their Passion Over Bread Work

“The video is about burnt-out musicians who can no longer bear the emotional burden caused by bread work and have decided to devote themselves completely to music,” says director Rihards Romuš. “Any artist can work at any job, but it will never bring perfection. The clip’s motto is ‘Live for the music!’, meaning you have to work hard to achieve your goals.”

The co-author of the song Oskars Maurer says: “In the summer with [Reini] We went on a tour around Latgale and, having escaped from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we wrote songs for the new album. The song is about getting rid of that feeling that comes over you when you sit in a room and look out the window at the surrounding senseless chaos. It’s about getting off the anti-depressants and the joy of life triumphs.”

The following took part in the recording of the song: Oskars Maurer (voice), Artūrs Kuzmins (guitar), Dāvids Eglītis (drums), Dāvis Lāpāns (keyboards), Andris Spieķis (bass), Evelīna Homčenko (background vocals), Patriss Valdemārs (background vocal recording). The song was recorded, produced and mixed by producer Reinis Briģis.

The short film was shot and edited by director Rihards Romuš. Producer – Lāsma Neulāne.

Roles: car service employees – group “Loud Silence”; boss – Jānis Veikšāns.
