Election day in Turkey passes without queues and tension in front of the sections
According to the BNR, voter turnout is low at the moment in the sections of Istanbul’s “Avjalar” district, where compact masses of Bulgarian Turks reside. By 11.00 some 400 voters had gone to the polls, a 50% lower turnout than in the previous November elections last year.
One of the explanations for this is that in this vote, unlike the previous one in our south-eastern neighbor, a greater number of sections were found: 166, with 40 more than in the November vote. Furthermore, in these elections, the compilation of the declarations of the voters abroad who will not vote elsewhere can be done in advance and not at the polling station, as was the case in previous elections. At the November ballot, it made it difficult for voters and delayed the vote.
There are also no customary queues in front of sections in Great Britain, where according to bTV Bulgarian citizens have actively voted even in previous elections. There are a total of 126 sections in the UK. In the previous elections, about 34,000 people voted in it.

“Today the choice is very important. The choice is between going back to the transition years and stopping this transition once and for all, going to a new, prosperous, changing Bulgaria. And I believe that all Bulgarians right now will make the choice that Bulgaria will go on “. This was stated by the co-president of the political party “Let’s continue the change”, Kiril Petkov, after casting his vote in today’s elections.
