LIVE | Demonstration against corona measures Museumplein ended | Inland

A large group of activists had gathered on the Museumplein in Amsterdam on Saturday evening. The demonstration of Women for Freedom was ended prematurely by the organization in consultation with the police. Agents did not have to take action.

“A speech and music led to unrest among those present, as a result of which the corona standards were not properly observed. The demonstration was therefore prematurely stopped at 6.20 pm, 40 minutes before the end time, ” said Halsema in a statement.

The protesters said they did not agree with the government’s corona measures. “We stand up for the opinion of another,” it sounded on city channel AT5.

According to the police, an estimated 1,000 people had come to the demonstration. “The group of participants split up after the demonstration was broken,” Halsema reports. No fines were issued.
