VACCINATION FIGURES
Since the start of the vaccination campaign, 45,582,015 people have received at least one dose of vaccine, which corresponds to 67.6% of the population. Among them, 38,154,272 people now have a complete vaccination schedule, or 56.6% of the population. Despite the continued increase in vaccine coverage, the campaign is showing signs of running out of steam, once the craze has passed following Emmanuel Macron’s speech on July 12.
In detail, a record of 4.8 million doses was reached the following week, followed by a slight ebb to 4.5 million at the end of July, then a drop to 3.6 million at the beginning of August, which is the most low since the end of May. The trend has continued in recent days, with figures down 8% on Monday and Tuesday compared to the previous week. The drop is even more pronounced for the first doses: -21% over these two days, auguring a weekly rate of less than 2 million.
