At least a thousand companies will be using self-set up commercial test lanes from the beginning of next week. This is reported by BNR, which made a tour among business associations and commercial test providers. BNR writes on the website that companies in Deventer (50), Nijmegen (400-500), Oldenzaal (200) and Uden (250), among others, use test streets for employees, or will do so soon.
Employees are usually tested faster in their own test street than in those of the GGDs. Waiting times add up there, sometimes up to ten days, or people have to drive miles to get somewhere. “It is often known within 48 hours via our own test streets whether someone is infected with the corona virus, so that employers incur less costs due to absenteeism.”
CoronaLab, one of the two largest commercial test providers in the Netherlands, tells BNR it will guide a few hundred companies in setting up test streets.
