Austria will largely be locked again from Tuesday in the fight against the corona virus. The new lockdown includes a curfew from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. to slow the spread of the virus. The intention is to ease the lockdown step by step in December, according to government leader Kurz.
Restaurants have to close and can only have meals taken out, in hotels only business people are allowed. Secondary schools and higher schools and universities are moving back to distance education, as during the first lockdown earlier this year. Primary schools and shops, on the other hand, will remain open.
The Austrian government wants to prevent hospitals from becoming overloaded with the new lockdown.
Johnson convenes cabinet
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson also convened his cabinet on Saturday to discuss a possible new lockdown. The BBC reported that Johnson will hold a press conference about this on Saturday.
According to the BBC, additional measures should now be taken to prevent the number of infections and deaths from the corona virus from rising further.
The Times reported that there may be a month-long lockdown. During that time, only essential shops, schools, universities and daycare centers should remain open.
