The ADDA will host the new series of summer concerts starting on August 8 Authentic 2022. With it, the program of special activities organized to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Diputación de Alicante is completed.
The vice-president and deputy for Culture, Julia Parra, explained that “the ADDA Foundation has wanted music to be prominently present in this celebration, also continuing with the great dissemination work with which, from the Culture area, we want involve all audiences by offering top-level proposals that live up to what the people of Alicante and our visitors deserve”.
The programming includes top international groups and vocalists. It will kick off with three concerts by UB40 feat. Ali Campbell, Kool & The Gang and the singer of the legendary band Spandau Ballet, Tony Hadley. All of them reference artists, with extensive experience, who continue to arouse the interest of a wide audience.
The concerts will take place on August 8, 10, 12, 19 and 20 at 8:00 p.m. and tickets, which range between 20 and 40 euros, can be purchased on the pages addaalicante.es e instanticket.esand include discounts of up to 30% for those under 30 and over 65 years of age.

Monday 8 August 2022 – 8:00 p.m. UB40 feat. Ali Campbell
They were formed in 1978, in Birmingham (United Kingdom). Success came in 1984 with their famous Red Red Wine by Neil Diamond, which was recovered in 1988 after playing it at a tribute concert to Nelson Mandela, and then reached number one on the charts. Anthony Patrick Hadley is known for forming a band with his friends, Spandau Ballet. As representatives of the new romantics, they achieve worldwide success with sales of 25 million records. Once dissolved in 1990, he began his solo career as a singer.
In 1996 he participated in the tour Night of the proms through various European cities accompanied by other artists such as Joe Cocker and a great orchestra. On that tour he performed emblematic songs from his career, including Gold, True o Through the barricades.
Five years later, in 1997 and under his own Slipstream label, Hadley recorded a new self-titled album in which he covered his favorite songs along with some unreleased theme composed by him, such as the one he dedicated to his daughter Toni called She. At that stage he decides to record his first live album in one of his numerous performances. This is how the album was born Obssession (published by Almafame in 2000) in which once again he alternated classics such as Under the bridge de Red Hot Chili Peppers o Walking in Memphis by Marc Cohn with his own songs. The name of the album was inspired by the obsession of the fans that he experienced during his time as a youth idol with Spandau Ballet.
In 2006 he decides to fulfill another pending wish and records an album of swing called Passing Strangers under the label Curb Records, including classics that he listened to as a young man with his family such as The mood I’m in o Just a gigolo.
