Whitney Henriquez, Amber’s sister, was allowed to testify in the libel case on Wednesday. She also talked about the incident with the dogs. “At one point, Johnny kept one of Amber’s dogs through the car window,” Whitney recalled. “I was terrified. Because he was drunk, I couldn’t estimate what he would do. Fortunately, he left the animal back in the car afterwards. He did, however, continue to laugh out loud in a very vicious way. Afterwards, he joked that he would put the dog in the microwave.”

According to Henriquez, Depp became enraged every time he was drunk or under the influence. “Then he scolded us and called us bitches. When he used cocaine, the fence was completely off the dam. Sometimes he also became very jealous and accused Amber of adultery. I was sort of a relationship counselor during their marriage and often tried to mediate during arguments.” Not all of her solutions were helpful, though. In 2013, for example, Whitney joked in a message to Johnny that he had to give Amber a beating. “Given the things I know now, I deeply regret it,” she said. Henriquez also admitted that she encouraged the couple to stay together, even though she suspected Depp was beating her sister. “There was actually a moment when I saw Johnny punch Amber,” she recalled.
