“Thanks”
Here is Liu Shaoang’s unspoken speech.
“I wish everyone a good evening, I warmly welcome the athletes, coaches and family members.
I regret that I cannot attend the event, but I would like to congratulate the nominees and the awardees.
Thank you for the award, thank you to the people who helped me achieve these results, I would like to highlight a few of them.
I would start with my beloved coaches and mentors, Ákos Bánhidi, Tse Su Chun and Lina Chang Ching – without them, without the hat trick, these results would never have been achieved. I would continue with the professional staff, Imre Emil, Bence Bánhidi, Csul Von Eric Lee, Sándor Varga, their role is also huge in these results.
A huge thank you to uncle Misi Orendi, who played a key role in the development of short-track speed skating in Hungary, to uncle Csaba Szemők for his continuous support, and of course to my brother, with whom we motivate and drive each other to this day.
Thanks to my former colleagues, I would single out four, they also helped me prepare during the Olympics when I tested positive, they are Bence Oláh, Attila Talabos, Alex Varnyú and Csaba Burján.
Special thanks to Ferencváros Torna Club: they welcomed us and treated us like family members. It was a huge release when we got to them and we got a lot of support from them, I’m grateful for the time we spent together.
I would like to thank Hungary, the Hungarian sports fan community, which has showered us with endless love. There are people who support us to this day.
Many more names could be listed, as a final word I would just say thank you – the award goes to my mother.”
