Florence Pugh (26) says in a new interview with the newspaper that she had a difficult start for the acting profession.
Despite her young age, Florence Pugh can already boast an acting career that has spanned more than eight years.
The British Hollywood star, known among others “Don’t Worry Darling”, “Little Women” and “Black Widow”, was only 17 when she appeared in her first role, the acclaimed “The Falling”.
Now tells Pugh The Telegraph who took the hurdles as early as the following year – in 2015 – when he shot the TV movie “Studio City” in Los Angeles.
There he figured as a hopeful pop star.
– I felt so lucky and I was very grateful. I couldn’t believe I got this job with cream, says Pugh, who was then 19.
But the joy didn’t last long, we have to believe the actor. The film’s directors are said to have raised objections to his appearance quite early on.
– Of all the things that have tried to change about me, whether it was my weight, my appearance, the shape of my face or the shape of my eyebrows. It certainly wasn’t something I wanted to agree on, or the industry I wanted to be a part of, explains the 26-year-old.
He tells the paper that he feared he “made a big mistake”.
But the TV movie was never bought by any company and Pugh returned home to England. There she was offered to act in “Lady Macbeth”. She saved her acting dream from stranded.
Pugh says she’s back to the joy of making movies, and especially the kind where you can “have opinions and speak out loud”.
– And I’ve stuck to that, he says and adds that it’s all too easy in the industry to be thrown back and forth.
Today she is grateful that she received an apprenticeship so early in her career, because it helped her realize the kind of artist she wants to be.
The nipples were furious
The movie star caused a sensation on social media this summer when she attended a fashion show in Rome. Pugh wore a transparent dress and reactions were not lacking.
“Why are you so afraid of breasts?Pugh asked his 8.4 million followers Instagram.
He finished his long “talent” with the following request:
“Grow up. “
