“Libération” visited the small offices of Cnes. The fifteen investigators from this public body, rational enthusiasts with varied profiles, try to explain the seemingly “strange” observations reported by individuals.

“I come home, I put my things down and I see through the bay window in the living room – I am on the third floor and I have a large bay window which overlooks a park – I see a big red circle in the sky, just above the treetops.” Across the table, the investigator takes notes. Scrupulously. On a pad with a pen. He asks the woman: “And that red dot you saw, was it moving, was it static?” She takes back : “Yes, static. I stare at him for five minutes, maybe ten, he doesn’t move. And suddenly, how can I tell you… It diminishes. Until completely disappearing.” The investigator raises his head: “Are you sure it’s not a reflection on your window? The microwave, a lamp, the little red dot on the TV? Wife : “No. It was a red dot in the sky above the trees that suddenly disappeared. I can’t explain it.”
