Lithuanian national basketball player Kuzminsks joins the Zenit team

Lithuanian national basketball player Mindaugas Kuzminsks has joined the Russian club “Zenit” in St. Petersburg, the unit informs. The contract is signed for one year.

Last season, the Lithuanian represented another Russian team in Krasnodar, Lokomotiv-Kuban. He played in 21 major leagues in the United League Main Event, averaging 14.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists. In five “play-off” fights, he averaged 16 points, 5.4 balls under baskets and 3.2 assists. In the semifinals of the tournament “Lokomotiv-Kuban” lost to Kazan UNICS with 0-3.

In the ULEB Eurocupus, Kuzminsks took part in 19 matches, with an average of 13.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists. In this tournament, Krasnodar club fought to the quarterfinals, in which UNICS also lost 1-2.

Kuzminsk has been playing for Lokomotiv-Kuban since 2019. Prior to that, he also represented Piriac Olympiacos, Milan Olympia, New York Knicks, Malaga, Kaunas Žalgiris, Šiauliai, Vilnius Pearls and Vilnius Sakalai.

With the Lithuanian national team, he became the European vice-champion in 2013 and 2015.

It has previously been reported that “Lokomotiv-Kuban” also left Kuzminska’s people, Mants Kalnietis, who was recognized as the most valuable player in the United League, and will continue his career in “Žalgiris”.
