Next Wednesday, the Lithuanian government will decide on the suspension of the “opportunity passport” (analogue of the Latvian Covid certificate), said Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonīte, reports rus.lsm.lv
I can say that the government has already had a plan to suspend the “Opportunity Passport” for several weeks, simply these weeks, operational management decisions were agreed, discussions were held with entrepreneurs, and I think the government will take the decision to suspend the Opportunity Passport next Wednesday, “said the Prime Minister.
Due to the rapid increase in the number of new infections and the course of the disease, the need for a “passport” has recently been called into question. In addition, the Minister of Health approved a procedure that will allow people with asymptomatic Covid-19 to return to work in the event of a shortage of workers in vital sectors. The Opportunity Passport was introduced in Lithuania last May to promote vaccination and control the pandemic. By decision of the Lithuanian government, it is available to people who have been vaccinated against Covid-19, have a history of coronavirus infection or have tested negative for coronavirus.
The NRA portal has already written that the revocation of the Covid-19 certificate is also being discussed in Estonia.
