In 31 European countries, the prevalence of Covid-19 is considered to be so high that when returning to Latvia after visiting these countries, 10 days of self-isolation must be observed. From Saturday, September 19, self-isolation must also be observed when entering from Lithuania. In the coming weeks, self-isolation will not have to be observed when returning from only 4 European countries, while flights and other international passenger traffic from next week will affect 4 European countries, according to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).
Taking into account the results of the epidemiological investigation, the specialists of the SPCC recommend that you carefully consider the need to go abroad and assess the risks to your own and your relatives’ health without exposing them to the risk of infection.

The “yellow list” includes countries with a medium risk to health but returning from self-isolation, including 5 countries, including Germany, San Marino, Iceland, Poland and Lithuania.
Last week, Lithuania managed to avoid this list, reaching 15.6, but this time it has risen to 18.8.

It is also recommended not to travel to Russia, Belarus and other countries not listed.
Latvia is almost at the bottom of this list instead of a cumulative figure of 4.4 (4.3 last week). The lower rate is only in the Vatican, where there are no patients.
Also on the “white list” of countries returning from the 10-day self-isolation are Finland (incidence rate 10.9), Liechtenstein (7.8) and Cyprus (6.9).
For non-European countries, self-isolation will have to be maintained in the future when traveling from Tunisia, Canada, Georgia.
The requirement for self-isolation no longer applies to Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand and Uruguay.
The list shows a 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population. This list is valid from 19 September to 25 September.
International passenger transport is allowed to European countries, where the cumulative incidence rate does not exceed twice the EU average.
Therefore, next week the restrictions on flights and other international passenger traffic will be lifted to 4 countries – Andorra, Spain, France and the Czech Republic.
The most important epidemiological measure to maintain the current situation in the country is to observe in good faith the self-isolation of those who have returned from high-risk countries, reminds the SPKC.
CONTEXT:
After government decision air travel to countries with twice the 14-day cumulative morbidity rate in the European Union is allowed, while stipulating that 10-day self-isolation will be mandatory upon return from these countries.
Meanwhile, the prevalence of Covid-19 in Lithuania and Estonia rose sharply and Lithuania have called Latvia and Estonia in the so-called Baltic bubble to raise The 14-day cumulative Covid-19 morbidity threshold, according to which mandatory self-isolation must be observed when entering the country, is 16 to 25. Estonia has already made such a decision, while the Prime Minister of Latvia Krišjānis Kariņš (“New Unity”) has skeptical of the idea review the cumulative Covid-19 incidence threshold for self-isolation.
In Latvia on June 10 ended Emergency to declare the new coronavir announced on 12 March. The virus is still circulating and there is no medicine or vaccine for it. Certain restrictions still apply to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
