The symbolic vaccine handover ceremony took place at Vilnius Airport, accompanied by an Armenian delegation led by the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikola Pashinian, who is paying an official visit to Lithuania.

Lithuania, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, donated this consignment of humanitarian aid in response to Armenia’s request on a bilateral basis through the EU Vaccine Sharing Mechanism. During the official visit, the Ministers of Health of Lithuania and Armenia signed a cooperation agreement.

This year, Lithuania has already donated 200 thousand. Vaxzevria (manufactured by Astra Zeneca) vaccine doses for Ukraine, Moldova, Sakartvell and Armenia and almost 256 thousand. doses for Taiwan. Lithuania is donating the vaccine manufactured by the pharmaceutical company Moderna for the first time.
