2024 reading festival page starters
For ten days, the city is transformed into a literary stage for children and young people. In places like the Zeise Cinema, the Fundus Theater or the Bücherhallen there are many events that invite you to experience literature from different genres. For the 20th time, families, schools and daycare centers will find information about comics, interesting or educational children’s books and young adult literature and discover the world of books.
Program 2024
The reading festival also has a lot to offer in 2024. Participatory activities, reading and story times and many other events await visitors.
For school classes, the program includes Japanese narrative theater, a funny detective gathering around the town hall and book previews by Saša Stanišić and Katja Spitzer. Families can look forward to the first release of the new book from the Sams series by and with Paul Maar. Also “What happens now?” by Julia Neuhaus and Till Penzek appearing for the first time as part of the reading festival.
Interested teachers will also have the opportunity to invite the authors and designers of the reading festival to their school for a reading. If you would prefer to see the creative products on site, you can find them at various events throughout the city. A multifaceted program in which all children and young people get value for money.
