WhatsApp for Android is available in new beta 2.22.12.4. At first glance, there is nothing new for users. However, something is being worked on in the background: the ability to view not only current but also former members in groups.
This option is currently not activated, the colleagues by WABetaInfo but they tracked them down behind the scenes.
As you can see from the screenshot, there could be a chance in the future to view former members of a group via a separate list. That would be an innovation that some users would probably see critically (including me). Especially since this list would not only be visible to admins, but also to every group member according to the current status.
However, it may be some time before WhatsApp tests the function in beta or generally rolls it out. So maybe you can adjust the finer points.
