A total of 18,355 people have received five doses of the Covid-19 vaccine in the country, while 315,594 have four doses.
Meanwhile, the epidemiological surveillance system registers only 38 active cases of the Covid-19 virus nationwide, of which 23 are reported in women and 14 in men.
Eight new positive cases were reported yesterday and 95% of the country’s municipalities have not reported any positive case of the virus for at least three weeks.
The details were given by the director of Preventable by Vaccines, Lucía Vargas, and the National Director of Epidemiology, Ronald Skewes.
The dose
Regarding the vaccines against the Covid-19 virus, Vargas recalled that over 16.2 million doses have been applied, of which 7.3 million correspond to the first dose; 6.0 million to second dose; 2.5 million to third dose; 315,594 at the fourth dose and 18,325 at the fifth dose. Among the population between 12 and 17 years old, 865,263 first doses, 626,687 second doses and 23,447 third doses have been applied, while among those between 5 and 11 years old, 194,194 first doses and 104,847 second doses have been applied.
He said that the country still has vaccines and urged the population to complete their schemes. While Skewes explained that of the active cases, the average number of those affected is 41 years old and they are distributed in 13 municipalities.
