Listhaug and Lysbakken won the debate – VG

The winners of the election campaign’s first party leader debate are on opposite sides of Norwegian politics, VG’s commentators believe.

SV leader Audun Lysbakken and FRP leader Sylvi Listhaug will each receive five from VG.

NRK’s party leader debate in Arendal is the election campaign’s first – and the first for both Listhaug and Liberal Party leader Guri Melby. But only one of the two debate debutants excelled tonight, VG’s commentators believe.

Two out of three prime ministerial candidates get a four, while Vedum has to settle for a three. The very lowest score goes to Rødt leader Bjørnar Moxnes and KrF’s Kjell Ingolf Ropstad.

Below you can read who the VG commentators Hanne Skartveit, Astrid Meland and Tone Sofie Aglen think were the best – and worst.

Debates: 3

Climate is important, but this became too long and too technical. A wonder if the viewers managed to keep up, not to mention seeing the difference between the politicians. Too many people in the panel, but NRK can not be blamed for that. The duel between Sylvi and Audun was the highlight of the evening. Well led by Fredrik Solvang. Asks good and pointed questions, but here someone should have planned the debate better. Difficult for everyone to stand out.
