ATTENTION health hazard!

Consumers who have purchased one or more of these products should definitely refrain from consuming them

In addition to nausea, vomiting or diarrhea after eating affected food, Listeria can also trigger symptoms similar to those of a flu infection after a longer incubation period (sometimes over 3 weeks). The health of pregnant women, small children and the immunocompromised is particularly at risk. If the above symptoms occur, consult your family doctor immediately.

Listeriosis is usually harmless in healthy people or is hardly noticed. If a particularly large number of pathogens are ingested, fever and diarrhea can occur. Small children or people with a weakened immune system, such as those who have just had an operation, AIDS or cancer patients and diabetics can become seriously ill.

The onset of the disease can occur up to eight weeks after ingestion of the bacteria. Listeria can cause sepsis (“blood poisoning”) or meningitis (inflammation of the meninges), which can be treated with antibiotics, but still lead to death in 30 percent of cases.

Listeriosis is particularly dangerous for pregnant women, as it can have fatal consequences for the unborn child. It can result in premature delivery, severe damage, or even death of the fetus. The pregnant woman, on the other hand, often does not even notice the disease.
