According to the representatives of the group, “Delfi” informs, the program will consist of melodies of the most outstanding Latvian composers of all time, arranged by both musicians. Compositions such as Zigmars Liepiņš’s “Quasimodo Song”, Imants Kalniņš’s “Wrap Your Hands”, Jānis Lūsēns’ “Alises Street”, Valta Pūce’s “Ballad from the performance” Šveiks “”, Raimonds Pauls “Theater”, Emīls Dārziņš’s “Melancholic Waltz” and others works.
“In the summer, we started a successful concert tour in various Latvian cities with the program” Without Electricity “, and while touring our beautiful land, the idea of a special program dedicated to Latvia arose. It would be our belated greeting to Latvia in a century, better later than ever, “says Valters Pūce.
Pianist Dainis Tenis adds: “In my opinion, the new concert program is a symbolic response to the limitations in the world, which is the right time to delve into the works of local composers. We concluded that a lot of wonderful music is rarely played in instrumental performance, so we are pleased let us remember long-unheard melodies and add to the cello and piano repertoire that young musicians may be able to perform in the future. “
The duo Valters Pūce and Dainis Tenis start the new concert program with Zigmars Liepiņš’s legendary “Quasimodo Song”, which was once performed by Igo and Niks Matvejevs. The music video was made in Jaunpils Castle, which is one of the few medieval castles that has survived.
The next concerts of the duo are expected in Valmiera – on November 20, Jelgava – on November 27, in Riga – on December 12 and in Sigulda – on December 13. Tickets will be available soon.
