On Thursday, December 30, Reiks and Hatty, or real name Artūrs Hatuļevs, who is better known for participating in the project “Milleny”, will present the latest song “Dzīvo” to the public. The single has also been the subject of a video filmed in Iceland.
The song was originally composed by Hatty, but when Reiku was addressed for collaboration, the sound of the song changed quite significantly. Thanks to Hatty’s friend Rassell (Ruslan Kuksinovich) for the post-production of the musical accompaniment, who also recorded the song.
The main idea of this single is to live for a moment, not be afraid to take risks and not always choose the easiest path. “You have to feel which door to go through, but which ones are better to keep closed,” says Reiks.
The idea that the video for the song would be made in Iceland came about spontaneously. It is a kind of very exotic island – a country with stunning landscapes that make you feel like you are in another world.
Reiki, who has so far admired Iceland only from afar, reveals: “When I went to the filming locations, I often wanted to stop and just look at the scenery. The ocean, waterfalls, mountains, black beaches and places where the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) trains its astronauts. All these stories and such unseen sights, all created an indescribably mystical feeling, which at times really made us feel as if we were on another planet. And I still remember the incomprehensible sense of freedom I had while in Iceland. It was a great opportunity to forget everything else and be in the moment. ”
The cameraman of the video, Toms Auziņš, says that just like the trip to Iceland, everything happened spontaneously in the scenes of the video, it had no directing. “It was like an adventure with friends who go to amazing places together without thinking about what awaits them.”
Auziņš also reveals that an unforeseen, amusing incident occurred during the recording of the clip, which was documented, later assembled and posted on social networks.
“It was an accident when Reiki, Hatty and the film crew got stuck on the beach on Sunday night – in the middle of nowhere and couldn’t call in rescuers because they were too far away,” Tom recalls.
