“I heard this song for the first time this summer, visiting Latvia, on my way from Saldus to Liepāja. I didn’t understand a word, but it immediately spoke to me. When I translated, I was emotionally overwhelmed by this song. Now, learning the Latvian language, the connection with this song has become even more personal, “says the singer. “I express my deepest condolences to Edwin Zariņš’s relatives and music lovers. The country has lost a talented artist.”

Shot Adamashvili has recited the song “Fire of the Courtesans” together with his mother – a poet. “My mother’s life has not been easy. She has raised four children, working in several jobs at the same time, but never stopped writing poetry. I knew she would be able to help me cool the text as close to the original as possible to convey the essence of this story to Georgian listeners.” the process of creation is told by the singer.

Shota Adamashvili was born and raised in the small Georgian town of Bolnisi. He did not even dare to dream of a musician’s career and going to the other side of the ocean. Now, after participating in several Georgian TV shows, local and international festivals, Shota Adamashvili is hoping to be a country music mecca in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. According to himself, he is probably the only country music performer in all of Georgia, because the genre is not very popular there. Last year Shot visited Latvia and definitely plans to return here.

Edvīns Zariņš (1954-2022) is a Latvian singer and guitarist. In 1996, Zariņš formed the country music group “Dakota”.
