Remembering the beginnings of the musical collaboration, Boow says, “MUUD is dear to me! Already in the spring, when there wasn’t much indication of whether Bouch would succeed with music, the guys instantly appreciated me and my music and accepted myself into a herd that introverted me. “It’s a lot to know, it’s been a while, and we’re already on the stage of the Golden Microphone.”
The song “Shadow” is a story about the artist’s inexhaustible pull to continue despite the difficulties. “The song came to me last winter, when I was working manicly hard on music, I was tired and burnt out, and I didn’t see the point in anything. It seemed that my shadow was still working in my place,” reveals Boow.
MUUD member Point to I remembers that the shadow of “Shadow” immediately subsided, because a lot of work was done close to burning every day, when emotions fluctuate from joy to despair. “It’s important to have a strong spirit, especially in this difficult time, when there is so much uncertainty about the future, doing what works best. It’s important to find a color in life, and every shadow makes it more and more alive,” says Point I.
The songs “Shadow” were composed by: Būū, Punkts uz I, Cepums, Jānis Krūmiņš, Henrijs Mucenieks (guitar), Ernests Aļļis (saxophone), beatmakers – Silins Beats and Beatowski.
The premiere at the “Golden Microphone” ceremony was performed by: Būū, Punkts I, Jānis Krūmiņš, Henrijs Mucenieks (guitar) and Artūrs Strautmanis (drums). Viktorija Grappa (stylist / braids), Ieva Biteniece (choreography), Jana Kozlova (make-up) participated in the creation of the performance.
Along with the single “Shadow”, three new “MUUD” songs have been published on the streaming services – “No Sun”, “Venus” and “Shine in the Window” (with Henny). However, the presentation and announcement of new music turned out differently than planned, taking into account Russia’s extensive hostilities in Ukraine. The “Golden Microphone” ceremony was also dedicated to supporting Ukraine. Musicians point out that it is important to react to what is happening and not pretend that it does not affect. You can now see how much power music and art have in bringing people together and conveying their message.
