‘Destroyer’, which celebrates its 45th anniversary, was originally released in 1976 and is considered one of KISS’s quintessential albums. It is the band’s first album to sell a million copies in its first year and has the title of being their best-selling studio album of all time.

Packed with concert basics and KISS Army favorites, including “Detroit Rock City”, “Shout It Out Loud”, “God Of Thunder” y “Beth”On November 19, 2021, UMe will release KISS – Destroyer 45th in Super Deluxe 4 CD + Blu-ray box format, as well as standard double black vinyl and limited edition double yellow and red vinyl, on 2 CDs and digital. . For the recording of Destroyer, Bob Ezrin was hired as KISS’s new producer, helping the band reach new levels, both in sound and creativity. The album also showcased the band’s growth as musicians and songwriters, experimenting with new sounds that came in the form of their softer side like “Do You Love Me?” And songs loaded with orchestral arrangements like “Great Expectations” and his hit “Beth”, which would take to number 7 on Billboard. After the great success of “Alive!” (Billboard number 9 in 1975), Destroyer was the KISS album that brought them to the forefront of the mainstream and transformed them into global rock icons. For its anniversary, UMe celebrates the legacy of this momentous album with an astonishing amount of bonus material.

CD 1 includes the original album recently remastered on Abbey Road, while CD 2 includes 15 demos from the personal archives of Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, 9 of which have not been previously released. CD 3 is packed with discarded studio takes, alternate covers / mixes, and singles edits, most notably a new, more stripped down “Beth (Acoustic Mix)” mix, and CD 4 contains an electrifying performance of the band’s visit. to Paris, France, at the L’Olympia on May 22, 1976. For the Blu-ray audio disc, Steven Wilson was hired to create a mix of Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound from the original studio album, plus 2 Bonus tracks “Beth (Acoustic Mix)” and “Sweet Pain (Original Guitar Solo)”, the latter featuring Ace Frehley’s original guitar solo that was not released on the studio album (this song is available from the Destroyer project: Resurrected from 2012).
