Listen to interceptions PM Siracusa, 51 files ‘laundry’

(ANSA) – CATANIA, NOV 13 – Massimo Romanelli, the CEO of Gr Sistemi, a giant that provides wiretapping services to many Italian prosecutors’ offices, including Milan, is under investigation in Catania for complicity in unauthorized access to a computer system. The company is not involved in the investigation. Along with Romanelli, Salvatore Malfa is also included in the register of suspects, who for many years was the operational manager of Gr systems in Syracuse. Also in the file is an officer of the financial police, Dario Bordi, recently appointed head of the Gico of Naples: according to the accusation, Malfa, at the request of the financier, had installed his equipment in the offices of the Fiamme Gialle company of Syracuse. And in this way the same financiers subjected to Bordi were illegally intercepted. The investigation, writes Il Fatto Quotidiano which today publishes the news which has been confirmed by judicial sources, has been closed by the Catania Prosecutor’s Office and concerns the service carried out by Gr systems for the Syracuse Prosecutor’s Office. Malfa, we read in the documents, is also “de facto administrator of Awacs Technology srl and of Awacs Responce Security”. And it was precisely through these companies that the “repeated and continuous abusive access, by Malfa, of unidentified personnel attributable to Awacs Technology srl and Awacs Responce Security, as well as personnel external to these companies, to the IT systems relating to interception operations took place of the Prosecutor’s Office of Syracuse”. But there’s more: the access also concerned “software for managing and listening to interception activities”. The amount of proceedings, based at the Prosecutor’s Office of Syracuse, and “lacked” without any title would be 51. The charges are 32 and, reading them, writes il Fatto, it turns out that from 2009 to 2021 Gr systems was often used to purposes that had nothing to do with judicial investigations. (HANDLE).
