On the 55th anniversary of the start of his career, Chicago announces his 38th studio album: Born for this moment, which will be published on July 15. As a preview, the single “Firecracker” has been released.
“I hope that, 55 years from now, listeners will really feel something about our music and our lyrics,” says Robert Lamm. “I mean, we’re all human. We all go through some variation of the same pain and joy at some point in our lives, and that has something in common. I hope that listeners in the future really have all those feelings while listening to our music.”
The current Chicago lineup consists of three original members Robert Lamm (lead vocals and keyboards), Lee Loughnane (trumpet) and James Pankow (trombone) along with Ray Herrmann (sax and flute) Wally Reyes, Jr. (drums), Neil Donell (vocals), Ramón «Ray» Yslas (percussion), Tony Obrohta (guitar), Loren Gold (keyboards and backing vocals) and Eric Baines (bass and backing vocals).
