The government will abolish this type of BBM Premium and Pertalite. For Premium, the plan is to do it next year.
Vice President Ma’ruf Amin said Premium will be phased out because Indonesia is moving towards green energy. The road map has been prepared by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati said the Minister of Environment and Forestry (LHK) had provided a provision to sell fuel with a minimum octane of 91. Meanwhile, Premium It is an 88 octane fuel.
“One is the provision from the Minister of Environment and Forestry in 2017 there is a provision to reduce carbon emissions, so it is recommended that the fuel sold is a minimum (octane) of 91,” said Nicke.
Nicke suggested that people start switching to Pertalite fuel because it has a higher octane. He said the Blue Sky Program itself actually encouraged people to switch from Premium to Pertalite.
Pertalite has an octane of 90 which incidentally is not in accordance with the provisions of the Minister of Environment and Forestry. For this reason, in the future, people are also encouraged to switch to using Pertamax which has an octane number of 92.
“We will also encourage people to use something better. So that it was in accordance with the minimum provisions of 91 then run to Pertamax,” he said.
However, for now Nicke ensures that the Pertalite type BBM will not be removed even though it is only 90 octane.
“But there is no policy today to abolish Pertalite. It doesn’t exist,” he stressed.
