Listen! The association ‘DivDiv’ releases the single ‘Kaste’ in retro mood

The group “DivDiv” has released the single “Kastes”, which also has an animated video version. The new rock song and its accompanying video are captured in the aesthetics of the 8-bit era, making references to computer games and pixel art. The group “DivDiv” will perform the new single and other songs in three summer concerts – on July 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the “Saldus Saule” festival in Saldus Kalnsėta park, on August 5 at the “Fontaine Rock City” club in Pāvilosta and on August 13 at the new creative “Liepāja Lake Music” in the yard at 20 Kuršu Street in Liepāja.

The origins of the “DivDiv” group can be traced back to 2015. The basic creative activity of its members takes place in other collectives, both in classical and popular music, as well as outside the domestic music industry. Thus, different worlds meet in the band’s music, resulting in an unusual and even unique sound. Dainis Melniks, Justs Markuševskis, Roberts Dinters, Mārtiņš Zālīte, Āriks Hanzovskis and Jānis Straume still call themselves full-fledged participants of “DivDiv” with a Kurzemian conviction. “Kastes” is the band’s fifth single.

“Our vision for the new piece was formed as a reference to the flow of time today, which obliges a person to be a part of a big time planning conveyor,” says Dainis, the band’s guitarist. “We all loved 8-bit computer games as kids, where there were always conveyor belts with boxes and robots driving them. In the song, these are references to today, when so much of our lives are packed into boxes on the same conveyor…”

The recording of the new song was made at the culture house “Wiktorija” in Liepāja, while the video version of the single was created by “Greg John Media”.
