Until now, Roberts Dinters has been better known as a guitarist and producer in the context of Latvian rock music. Earlier this year, he released his first solo album, Recycling, which also revealed his role as a sound seeker with a love for experimental and electronic music. Now he has released his first pop song, which he also performs in full.

Robert Dinters talks about the song’s creation and why the release seemed so relevant right now: “The song has been stirring in my head for a long time, but I wasn’t really sure it should be released, but , and there is a feeling that people can find a story for themselves in it. “

“The idea and feeling of the song is the need to talk about mental health and depression, try to illustrate the many faces of depression that make it so difficult to diagnose with people’s eyes. not to testify to a person’s emotional world.

This song sounded in my head in a very dark time as a set of emotions, which I only later analyzed, “admits the musician.” It’s not easy to talk about mental health. Probably that’s why the song has only been in my head for several years. In recent years, there has been more and more talk about mental health, which also convinced me that it is time to record and release the song, “says the musician.

A video by the artist Anna Meldrāja is being created for the song. The video was filmed during the exhibition “Art for a Longer Life” by the association “ASTE. Art, Science, Technology, Education”, which took place from 15 to 21 September together with the multimedia performance on mental health “This Love Does Not Sell” created by the project DIVI 9. Anna Meldrāja and Roberts Dinters participated in the exhibition with the work “Bēres_un_burbuļi_mastered_2_final_gatavs_FINAL_sentu2.mp4”, in which Meldrāja’s multimedia installation and video projections were exhibited and Dinters became part of the installation, performing “No mix “later this year.

“It’s cool that Anna and I were able to take part in this project, because mental health was the primary thing I wanted to talk about with this song.” The job description said: ) Hiding burnout, inability to concentrate and finish things, get, try mushrooms, go to yoga … Encouragement, trying to get out of bed and internal dialogues about the need for socialization and the meaning of life. self and discomfort to be in people. Fear of “climbing out” and facing our “bubbles”. So outside we are very normal and colorful, we listen to pop music and in general, everything is normal … Get …

Kārlis Šteinmanis and Dzintars Vītols have participated in the post-production of the song.
