At the beginning of the year, “Warner Music Baltics” announced its intention to start a wider activity in the Baltics, including cooperation with local musicians, mentioning Reini Straum, who will be known by the stage name Raum.
Today, the musician’s first song “Happy”, which is available on all music streaming platforms, reaches the listeners. Along with the song, a video of the song was published, in which the main role is played by Raum himself and the actress Lelde Dreimane also participates.
The song “Happier” is the musician’s application for musical performance as a solo performer: “The first song is my business card as Raum. Although I have done this in the musical field before, I am positively anxious, because with Raum’s songs I take full responsibility for what I have said, I show myself as a solo performer and singer in such a direct way as never before! ”
At the end of last year, an international team was invited to Tallinn’s Downtown Studios, a songwriting camp organized by the record company, to work with Rhine on both the completion of the already written Raum songs and new songs. Raum is the author of “Happier” lyrics and music, but Estonian authors Karl Killing and Daniel Levi have also written the song as co-authors. The producers of the song are the Finnish band “Los Rollos”.
The song “Happier” is about toxic relationships and the moment when you are finally ready to break out of them. On the one hand – thank you for the same, and (un) goodbye, but on the other hand – if karma bites the other for wrongdoing, well. Clean for prevention! ” says Raum.
The video of the song was created by the domestic company “371 Production”, whose team includes the director of the video Mark Landmanis, producer and screenwriter Bruno Rejs Corns, as well as the cameraman Rihards Dīcis.
“Speaking of the video, Together with Mark and Bruno, we decided that we needed to show something atypical of what could be expected of me,” says Raum. “That’s how the idea for the musical elements in the clip and… dancing scenes came about! For me as a capitalist, it was a challenge: to sing and dance for the first time in my life! Many thanks to everyone who took part in the creation of the video – the filming team, Lelde Dreimane, actors and friends of the background, as well as choreographer Ieva Biteniece and dancers. ”
Raum (real name Reinis Straume) is a musician and songwriter, he has been one of the leading members of the group “Double Faced Eels” for several years. He has been the author of music and lyrics for several of the band’s most successful songs of recent years (Reflection, Flame, She Doesn’t Dance, Where Are You ?, Unformatted). The band won the “Best.Cover.Ever YouTube” show in Los Angeles. Reinis also became one of the finalists of the second season of the domestic show “X Factor”.
