The author of the lyrics and music is Linda Leen, but the sound design of the single has been created by the musician together with guitarist Mikēlis Putniņš, drummer Krišjānis Bremšs, bassist Kristianas Priekulis and producer Arni Račinski.
Linda Leen says: “In this creative phase, I have worked mostly in chamber ensembles, solo on the piano, and it is so uplifting to feel the energy and saturation of the band again! people, a real presence, an emotional care that I could receive and give in this, not at all simple time, through the creation of the song and the recording process. ”
From now on – just up!
In the tradition that began in the United Kingdom at the beginning of this century, the saddest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, or Blue Monday, is called the third Monday in January. As the lowest point at which the biggest holiday of the year is over, the weather is dark gray and wet, the New Year’s resolution has already paid off, the money has run out, is the first working day of the week and far from the summer holidays.
“Blue Monday is like a quote from the moment, like a painting of the feelings of the era. Just a year ago, on this day, I wondered – how does it happen that after the most anticipated and heartfelt holiday of the year, post-Christmas melancholy occurs? It is possible that the journey to the saddest day of the year begins before Christmas, at a time of great discounts, when many of us are overwhelmed by an uncontrollable desire to buy a sense of happiness. But this time full of limitations teaches us beautifully how irreplaceable the feeling of presence and opportunity is! It is the most valuable and longest lasting gift. If the song inspires me to call someone I haven’t met for a long time, to give undivided attention and time to loved ones, I will be really happy, ”says Linda Leen.
Soundtrack for the trip
“It simply came to our notice then. Both on a dusty prairie and in snowy fields. Cloudy weather also suits this song, but with a light at the end of the tunnel. Traveling is freedom, we are running out of destinations to go to. They want to breathe fresh air and share it with their fellow people, ”Linda Leen reveals the mood of the song. Guitarist Miķelis Putniņš adds that the song sounds like the warmest day of summer. The nostalgia, freedom, sun and call for human closeness of the sixties.
