The composer of the song “Savējs” is Lauris Reiniks, but the author of the text is Guntars Račs, who in the text of the song combined heartfelt words that people in Latvia most often dedicate to people close to them.
This project was implemented in late 2020 during a pandemic and restrictions. The video version of the song was filmed in the luxurious House of Blackheads in Riga. The director of the clip is Aija Strazdiņa, but the cameraman is Ivo Skanstiņš.
“Own” is a romantic story about people who meet in childhood and turn out to be the right one to dance through all their lives. This story is published by Latvian champions in sports dances in different age groups – children Jegors Prokins and Polina Karimova, adults Edgars Līnis and Elīza Ancāne and seniors Romualds Jokšs and Ilona Jokša.
“First of all, it is a great pleasure for me to meet and sing with Alice, who is a young and talented singer, as well as a very nice person. People with mixed blood have always been especially interesting to me, and Alice meets both Japan and Latvia. As the producer and screenwriter of this project, I wanted to create something positive, beautiful and hopeful for us and all the listeners in this crazy time. Working on “Savēja” was a holiday for all of us, and I hope that people will also catch this feeling through our song and video in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia “, says Lauris Reiniks.

Estonian and Lithuanian versions of this composition will also be released in neighboring countries this week. In Lithuania, Reinika’s partner in the song “Savi” is singer Liepa, but in Estonia in the song “Sinuga” Lauris is joined by Luisa Värk.
