40 billionaires who made money fighting the pandemic

The richest new billionaire of the 40 is Li Jianquan, president of the Chinese medical device manufacturer Winner Medical, whose revenues come from the production of masks and protective suits for front-line medics in the fight against the pandemic. Winner Medical debuted on the stock exchange in September 2020, thanks to which Jianquan immediately became a billionaire – it has 68 percent. shares in the company. His fortune was estimated at $ 6.8 billion.

In third place among the new billionaires who made money from fighting the pandemic was Chinese Liu Fangyi – the founder and head of the medical equipment company Intco Medical, according to Forbes magazine.

Research companies that conduct clinical trials have also been successful. In this way, Juan López-Belmonte López ($ 18.18 billion) – head of the pharmaceutical company Rovi, and Karin Sartorius-Herbst ($ 9.40 billion) and Ulrike Baro ($ 10.00) – became a billionaire. $ 1.5 billion) from the German company Sartorius AG.
