The Economic Vice President of Cimex, Tania Danay Vives Alfonso, announced this Monday that the corporation currently has 613 service centers throughout Cuba to support the measure of fuel increase on the island.
Vives Alfonso explained that an initial network of 28 service centers will be established that will operate in USD (see list at the end).
In addition, a service center, known as “Nueva Imagen” in the province of Ciego de Ávila, will maintain the mixed service in CUP and USD. This establishment is located in Morón, at the entrance to the Keys, and is the only nearby service center that can provide this service.
The vice president also detailed that the means of payment accepted to buy fuel in dollars in Cuba, in this network of service centers, will include Visa cards, Mastercard, MIR cards, prepaid cards issued by Bandec, the ICE card, the Viajero card and the classic. The latter is a new financial product that will be launched soon and that can be purchased in the national network of Cadecas in the country.
As of February 1, when the new prices for the acquisition of retail or wholesale fuel come into force, Cimex has established the use of various electronic payment methods for the acquisition of these fuels at service centers.
These include chip cards for the state and non-state sector, national and international magnetic stripe cards, disposable prepaid cards, electronic pins through Transfermóvil, rechargeable chip cards and the QR code through Transfermóvil.
