List of Non-subsidized Fuel Prices Starting February 12 and the Reasons Behind the Increase… Page all

KOMPAS.com – PT Pertamina (Persero) as of Saturday (12/2/2022) officially raised the prices of three types of non-subsidized fuel oil (BBM), starting from Pertamax Turbo with Research Octane Number (RON) 98, Dex with Cetane Number (CN) 53, and Dexlite with CN 51.

Each region experienced a different price increase, ranging from Rp. 1,500 to Rp. 2,650 per liter.

For example, for the DKI Jakarta area, fuel price Pertamina’s Pertamax Turbo type increased from Rp 12,000 per liter to Rp 13,500 per liter.

For the Pertamina Dex type, it increased from Rp. 11,150 per liter to Rp. 13,200 per liter, and Dexlite has now become Rp. 12,150 per liter from the original price of Rp. 9,500.

Meanwhile, for non-subsidized fuel prices Others such as Pertamax (RON 92) and Pertalite (RON 90) have not yet experienced an increase and are still priced at Rp 9,000 and Rp 7,650 per liter in the Java region, respectively.

The reason behind the increase in non-subsidized fuel

Reported from the official page PertaminaThe increase in the price of several non-subsidized fuels is an implementation of the Ministerial Decree (Kepmen) of ESDM Number 62 K/12/MEM/2020 concerning the Basic Price Formula in Calculation of the Retail Selling Price of General Oil Fuel Types of Gasoline and Diesel Oil Channeled Through Filling Stations. Public Fuel and/or Fisherman’s Fuel Filling Station.

In addition, quoted from the official website Directorate General Oil and Gas Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resourcesone of the reason for the increase in non-subsidized fuel is the price of Indonesian crude oil or Indonesia Crude Price (ICP) which in January 2022 averaged 85.89 US dollars per barrel.

The price increased by 12.53 US dollars per barrel compared to last December 2021 which was 73.36 US dollars per barrel.

However, this price is still lower than other crude oil prices.

The price of Brent crude oil futures reached 91.55 US dollars per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures reached 89.66 US dollars.

Following competitors

The increase in the price of Pertamax Turbo with RON 98 followed Pertamina’s competitor, namely Shell Indonesia, which had already raised the price of its RON 98 fuel.

Reported from Kompas.com (11/2/2022), a Dutch multinational company, Shell Indonesia, raised the price of Shell V-Power Nitro+ (RON 98) to Rp 13,750 per liter, from last January’s price of Rp 12,790 per liter.

In fact, Shell Indonesia has raised the price of RON 92 fuel from the original Rp 12,040 per liter to Rp 12,990 per liter.

Meanwhile for Pertamina, there has been no price increase for fuel with RON 92 alias Pertamax.
