The Indonesian government is recorded as doing import weapons from Israel worth US $ 1.32 million or the equivalent of IDR 18.48 billion (exchange rate of IDR 14 thousand per US dollar) last year.
By volume, arms imports from Israel reached 2,674 kilograms (kg) or 2.67 tonnes.
According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), weapons imports from Israel include three Harmonized System (HS) codes.
First, HS code 93011000. This code covers artillery weapons, such as rifles, mortars, and howitzer guns, which are the dominance of imports amounting to US $ 1.28 million.
Second, the HS code 93051000 or spare parts and accessories for revolvers and pistols. Its value is recorded at US $ 3,756.
Third, HS code 93059999 which is the spare parts and accessories for revolvers and heading gun 9302 from leather / other textiles. Its value reaches US $ 41,091.
Still from BPS data, the most imported weapons from Israel entered in October 2020, which was valued at US $ 1.28 million. In that period, Indonesia brought in weapons with the HS code 93011000.
Namely artillery weapons, including rifles, mortars and howitzer guns and HS code 93059999, namely spare parts and accessories for revolvers and 9302 heading pistols from leather / other textiles.
In total, the value of imports of Indonesian weapons throughout 2020 amounted to US $ 404.61 billion. That means, arms imports from Israel are only equivalent to 0.32 percent of Indonesia’s total arms imports throughout 2020.
