The annual WWDC conference, where Apple announces new versions of the OS, will be held this summer. But we already know which iPhones and iPads will receive the new iOS and iPadOS 18.
According to the list MacRumors, iOS 18 will be received by all modern smartphones of the brand with a new design – the only exception will be the state-owned iPhone SE. Here is the complete list of future iOS 18 owners:
- iPhone 15 series,
- iPhone 14 series,
- iPhone 13 series,
- iPhone 12 series,
- iPhone 11 series,
- iPhone XS и XS Max,
- iPhone XR,
- iPhone SE second and third generations.
Of course, iOS 18 will also be pre-installed in the upcoming iPhone 16 models, which will be shown in September.
List of tablets that will receive iPad OS 18:
- iPad Pro (2nd generation and newer),
- iPad Air (3rd generation and newer),
- iPad (6th generation and newer),
- iPad mini (5th generation and newer).
According to Bloomberg, iOS 18 will bring the biggest update in iPhone history. Most of the changes will be dedicated to artificial intelligence, and Siri will become much smarter. Another important innovation will be support for the RCS messaging standard.
It is noted that most of the new features will be used exclusively in the iPhone 16, and older models will receive only some of the new features. This is especially true for artificial intelligence and other neural network capabilities.
Apple will announce iOS 18 at its annual WWDC developer conference in June, where it will confirm the exact list of supported iPhones and release the public version in September.
