KOMPAS.com – Prices of various needs have increased. Starting from kitchen needs such as cooking oil to the price of fuel oil (BBM).
This price increase burdens the community because these needs are food needs and vehicle fuel.
Not only the public, even traders also complained about the increase in the price of this need because it resulted in a decrease in income.
For example, tempe and tofu producers and beef traders have threatened to strike as a form of protest.
So, what goods have increased in price recently?
The increase in cooking oil prices has occurred since the end of 2021 and is still not resolved. But now cooking oil in modern markets and traditional markets is still difficult to find.
It can be seen in various areas, the shelves of modern retail stores which are usually filled with cooking oil products from various brands now look empty.
Similar conditions also occur in traditional markets where stalls usually sell cooking oil. Even if there is a stock of cooking oil, the price is still expensive.
Even though the government has set the highest retail price (HET) for cooking oil per liter. The police have also moved to investigate the scarcity of cooking oil.

2. BBN non subsidi
On February 12, PT Pertamina raised its fuel price non-subsidized fuel types for Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, and Pertamina Dex.
This fuel price increase has apparently also been carried out by other gas station companies, such as Shell, Vivo, and BP AKR since early February 2022.
Even the prices of non-subsidized fuel, LPG, and electricity have the potential to increase due to the Russo-Ukrainian war. This is because the war has resulted in an increase in world oil prices.
The increase in the price of fuel can result in an increase in the prices of various community needs because the distribution costs also increase.

3. Tempeh and tofu
Currently, the price of tempe and tofu has increased after the tempe and tofu craftsmen carried out a production strike which caused tofu and tempeh to disappear from the market three days ago.
This is because the price of soybeans, which increased in the first week of February 2022, reached 15.77 US dollars per bushel or equivalent to Rp. 11,240 per kilogram.
The Ministry of Trade estimates that this increase will occur until next July if the soybean price reaches Rp 12,000 per kilogram.
