List of cars to be injected in 2021 in Indonesia

Various new car models have appeared in Indonesia, but not a few have been decided stop selling or in other words, lethal injection throughout 2021.

The reasons for a model to retire can vary, ranging from not selling, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the principal’s decision, or other business views being better. So far, there are at least seven car models in Indonesia that have stopped being sold this year:

Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

The Outlander Sport is one of the models produced by Mitsubishi in Indonesia which will stop selling in early 2021. The Outlander Sport follows other Mitsubishi models whose sales were first, namely the Delica and Mirage.

Isuzu Panther

In February, Isuzu announced that production and sales of their flagship SUV, the Panther, had been discontinued. This does not only apply to the SUV body type, but also the pickup.

Isuzu Indonesia said that the Panteher, which has been sold since 1991, has sold 433,117 units.

Honda Jazz

Honda Indonesia did not continue selling the Jazz in the country after the new generation rolled out in Japan. The status of the Jazz’s discontinued sale was announced in March.

The position of Jazz in Indonesia was replaced by City Hatchback.

Honda Odyssey

Honda Indonesia announced it would stop selling the Odyssey in Indonesia in December following its principal’s decision in Japan. The Odyssey has been on sale domestically since 1994, the last refresh was in February.

Honda City Hatchback

Honda Indonesia stated in December that the City Hatchback was no longer for sale. The company wants to focus on selling the City Hatchback RS for the hatchback segment, while the sedan is concentrated on the Civic RS.

Nissan Terra

The Nissan Terra SUV stopped selling in February after all of its units were out of stock. Terra was first launched in 2018, the unit was imported from Thailand.

Suzuki Karimun Wagon R

Last month Suzuki Indomobil Motor stated that the Karimun Wagon R was no longer for sale, causing the company to leave the Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) seller group.

However, Suzuki continues to produce the Karimun Wagon R in Indonesia, only for the export market.
