According to WhatsApp’s statement, users affected by the termination of support will receive notifications and reminders to upgrade the model of the device they are using.
This decision was revealed by WhatsApp via its support page.
“Starting October 24, 2023 only Android OS version 5.0 and later will be supported,” WhatsApp said on the support page quoted by the Times of India.
The discontinuation of a number of Android phones was carried out to keep up with the latest technological advances.
“We routinely stop supporting older operating systems to redirect our resources to support newer operating systems. “If we stop supporting your operating system, you will be notified,” he said.

This decision is actually nothing new.
So, if you want to continue using the WhatsApp application, it is recommended to change to a newer Android cellphone.
For iOS, WhatsApp still supports iPhones running iOS version 12 and above.
