List of 25 players to strengthen Indonesian National team Of 2026 World Cup Qualification announced. Nine of the players are from abroad, aka abroad.
“For this match, midfielder Ivar Jenner was not called up because he is suffering from an injury. The injury was sustained when he was playing for Jong FC Utrecht,” wrote PSSI’s official statement.
The number of names called is in accordance with the statement by the Indonesian National Team Assistant Coach, Nova Arianto. Garuda is scheduled to play two legs, aka home and away, against Brunei Darussalam.
Garuda will first play a home match at the Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium, Palembang, on October 12. Five days later or on October 17, it was Brunei’s turn to host Shin Tae-yong’s team at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.
The nine overseas players called up are Marselino Ferdinan (KMSK Deinze), Asnawi Mangkualam (Jeonnam Dragons), Pratama Arhan (Tokyo Verdy), Sandy Walsh (KV Mechelen), Jordi Amat (Johor Darul Ta’zim FC), Shayne Pattynama (Viking FK ), Saddil Ramdani (Sabah FC), Rafael Struick (ADO Den Haag), and Elkan Baggott (Ipswich Town).
Persib Bandung is the club that contributed the most players, with three players. Followed by Persikabo Persikabo 1973, Dewa United, and Persija Jakarta, who each contributed two players.
Meanwhile, if they successfully overcome Brunei in a two-legged match, the Indonesian national team will advance to the second round of World Cup Qualification. In the chart, Garuda will enter Group F in the second round of Qualification, which contains Iraq, Vietnam and the Philippines.
