Minister of Home Affairs (Minister of Home Affairs) Tito Karnavian sent a written warning to 19 provinces in the country. All were reprimanded for the realization of the budget for handling COVID-19 until the incentives for health workers (nakes) are still low, even though the funds are there.
“We’ve combed through and have met many times with regional heads, there’s still nothing… there are some areas that are spending on handling COVID and the realization for incentives for health workers has not changed much,” Tito said in a press conference broadcast virtual via YouTube. , Saturday (17/7/2021).
Tito said the written warning was delivered on Saturday, yesterday, to 19 provinces. The 19 provinces that Tito reprimanded spread from Sumatra to Papua.
“This includes, sorry, a fairly harsh step because we rarely issue (written warnings),” he said.
The following 19 provinces were given the written warning:
1. Aceh Province
2. West Sumatra Province
3. Riau Islands Province
4. South Sumatra Province
5. Bengkulu Province
6. Province of the Babylonian Islands
7. West Java Province
8. DI Yogyakarta Province
9. Bali Province
10. NTB Province
11. West Kalimantan Province
12. Central Kalimantan Province
13. South Sulawesi Province
14. Central Sulawesi Province
15. North Sulawesi Province
16. Gorontalo Province
17. Maluku Province
18. Province of Malut
19. Papua Province
“Indeed, the realization has not yet been realized. The money is there, but it has not been realized for COVID-19 handling activities and then for incentives for health workers and others,” he said.
“It is possible that regional heads don’t know because this budget problem is sometimes the one who understands better is Bappeda or its Financial Agency, BPKAD, while regional heads sometimes, how many times we have been to many regions, sometimes we don’t know what the balance position is like,” continued Tito.
