The Netherlands will go to the polls in November. Several parties go into the elections with a new leader. Others continue to rely on well-known names. NU.nl lists the list leaders of the most important parties for you.
VVD
Everything points to that Dilan Yesilgöz Mark Rutte will take over as VVD leader. The party leadership has since expressed its preference for her. She also has the support of many prominent party members.
Candidates have until today (Sunday 13 August) to apply. Apart from Yesilgöz, only André Bosman has done that so far. He soon withdrew, leaving the way almost clear for Yesilgöz.
The departing Rutte called Yesilgöz “great”, but otherwise kept quiet about his succession. “The worst thing a new potential party chief can have is that the predecessor will get involved,” said the current outgoing prime minister.
D66
Robert Jett is at the top of the D66 electoral list in November. He is the successor of Sigrid Kaag. She leaves politics because the threats she receives take too great a toll on her family.
Jetten was officially chosen as party leader by a large majority of D66 members on Saturday.

CDA
Due to the departure of party leader Wopke Hoekstra, party chairman Pieter Heerma and chairman Hans Huibers, the CDA must replace the entire party leadership.
For the upcoming elections Henry Bontenbal put forward as leader. Bontenbal will be presented to the board on Monday. The association council made the decision that same day.
GroenLinks-PvdA
GroenLinks and PvdA will participate in November with a joint list. It must be very crazy to get the name of Frans Timmermans not at the top of that list.
The boards of both parties have already put forward the experienced PvdA member as party leader. Members of both parties will vote on August 22.
Timmermans has so far had no opposition. The leaders of both parties (Jesse Klaver and Attje Kuiken) have already rallied behind him.
BBB
In the previous elections, the BoerBurgerBeweging won one seat and came Caroline van der Plas so in the room. She is still the figurehead of the party and will also be the party leader in November.
Earlier this year, the BBB was the big winner of the Provincial Council elections and thus became the largest in the Senate. According to the polls the BBB will also be a serious factor to take into account in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Other parties
The ChristenUnie has been in the cabinet for the past few years. Miriam Baker succeeded Gert-Jan Segers as party leader in the House of Representatives at the beginning of this year. She is therefore the leader of the list in November.
Many opposition parties also see no reason for a new party leader. This is how PVV (Geert Wilders), SP (Lillian Marijnissen), the Party for the Animals (Esther Oldhand), Volt (Laurens Badger) and FVD (Thierry Baudet) stuck to their current leader.
At JA21 there is a good chance that Joost Eerdmans becomes leader again. That still has to be confirmed at a members meeting in September. At the SGP Kees van der Staij the figurehead for 25 years. There are no indications that this will change in November.
At DENK, the departing Farid Azarkan is succeeded by Stephen Van Barle. BIJ1 is still looking for a new party leader after the departure of Sylvana Simons.
Many eyes are also focused on Peter Omzigt. He has been an independent Member of Parliament since his departure from the CDA, but is very popular among voters. He will soon make a decision about his future. Omtzigt has already announced that he will not return to the CDA. Nor does he join the BBB.
