According to a source from the Metropolitan Command of the Lisbon PSP, the traffic towards Aeroporto-Benfica, where the accident occurred, “only takes place via the right-most route, with the other two being cut off for the authorities to carry out the intervention”.
On the other hand, Benfica-Aeroporto and, according to the same source from PSP, “only one strip is cut” to enable the intervention.
According to the same source, the work is expected to run until early afternoon.
A light vehicle crashed around 1:00 am on Friday, in an accident that killed three men, aged between 20 and 40, the only occupants of the car.
The vehicle overturned and hit a lamppost, which ended up invading the roads in the opposite direction (Benfica-Aeroporto), damaging a portico of directional panels.
